I am so excited to say that I will be attending a concert this week, I feel like I haven’t been to one in a long time. The last show I went to was when I went to see Megan Thee Stallion at Sam Houston, and I’m not even going to count that because it was really a concert it was party and she performed there. I didn’t have the best time, but it’s not her fault. She did great, but I could barely see because a group full of tall dudes bum rushed to the front, so they could drool over her. I heard she’s supposed to be having a concert sometime this month at the Smart Financial Centre, so hopefully I’ll be able to go see that. All of that is beside the point though. This Sunday I’ll be going to see The Internet at the House of Blues, and it should be a really amazing experience because I got Meet & Greet Tickets! I’ve never seen the Internet before in concert, but I have seen their lead singer Syd in concert. She dropped her first solo album last year called Fin, and it was great. That concert was around this same time last year at the same place, and I actually got to meet her. My friend and I saw some of the people hanging around the concert, so we decided to hang around too. We met one of the openers Tayla Parks she’s singer and famous songwriter, and she was selling merchandise and we got to take pictures with her. She also played Little Inez in the Hairspray movie, she was so nice. Later Syd and her mom came out and they were both very sweet and we got to take pictures with Syd as well.
My friend that I went to the concert with last year, Amari actually put me on to The Internet’s music a couple of years ago, and I’ve been a fan ever since. They have four albums Purple Naked Ladies, Feel Good, Ego Death, and Hive Mind. I like that latest two, Ego Death and Hive Mind the most. After they dropped Ego Death in 2015 they all took a break from the band and worked on solo projects. The only person’s solo project I heard was Syd’s, but I’m interested in hearing the other’s. If they’re as good as they are as a group, they have to be good individually. They’re an R&B Soul/ Neo Soul type band and their music is just phenomenal. If you like R&B I think you’d be a really big fan of them.
There are five members of the band. There was a sixth member, Jameel, but he left the group. The only two members that I’m really familiar with are Syd and Steve Lacey. There’s also Matt Martians, he and Syd brought the band together. Then there’s Chris and Patrick, who I don’t know anything about, but hopefully I can get know more about them at the meet and greet. I received an email today that explained how the meet and greet was going to go, and it said we would be able to take a picture with the band and receive a signed poster. I’m hoping that’s not all it entails because I at least wanted to be able to talk to the band members. I’ve never been to a meet and greet, so I don’t know how it will go, but hopefully I enjoy myself. If you’re a fan of The Internet, and you haven’t gotten tickets to the show yet, you can still find some at live nation.com!

The King and Queen are coming to Houston this weekend! Houston Native Beyoncé, and her husband, Rap Legend Jay-Z will be performing on the Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th at NRG Stadium for their OTR II Tour. OTR II stands for On The Run 2, and this tour has traveled worldwide. As you probably already know the 2 is there because the couple went on tour together back in 2014, and it was titled On The Run. OTR ll is a tour that consists of the couple’s greatest hits separately and the ones they made together. Beyoncé’s last album, Lemonade came out in April of 2016, and it was her response to her husband’s infidelities in their marriage. Jay-Z’s last album, 4:44, came out in June of 2017, and fans can say that it was about him owning up to his mistakes, and apologizing to his wife and family. The couple released a joint album, Everything Is Love, on June 16, 2018. They listed their name on the album as THE CARTERS to show that their marriage is stronger than ever. The album came as a surprise to everyone! A lot of people were expecting new music from Beyoncé because there have been rumors regarding a track list that she was finalizing, but the track list didn’t resemble any of the songs on Everything Is Love. Fans were also curious as to why the couple was going on tour together because they had both recently completed separate tours. Beyoncé traveled across the North America and Europe in 2016 for the Formation World Tour, and Jay-Z 4:44 tour went across North America in 2017. Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the definition of power couple! They are are always in the mentioned in media. They have a combined network $1.16 billion. They have three beautiful children, Blue, Sir, and Rumi Carter. They give back to several charities. Jay-z has a share in the Brooklyn Nets, and he is the executive producer of two documentaries, Time: The Kalief Browder Story, and Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story. Both documentaries are about the death of young black males caused by police brutality and a corrupt justice system. (There have been rumors that Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been threatened recently by George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin.) Beyoncé is a force all by herself! The Queen is America’s sweetheart, and in April she made history by being the first black woman to headline Coachella. I will be attending OTR II on Saturday, and I am so excited. If you can’t already tell, I am a Beyoncé stan! Stan-” an overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity”. I am also a fan of Jay-Z, but my love for Beyoncé runs deep. I will forever be a member of the Beyhive! I have attended several of Beyoncé’s concerts and I have owned every album. I even have some Destiny’s Child albums. For those of you who don’t know Beyoncé was the lead singer in a girl group Destiny’s Child before she started her solo career. I don’t thing I’ve ever been to a concert in the NRG Stadium, maybe along time ago when it was under the Reliant name. I’ve been to one in the arena, but I know OTR II will be an experience I’ll never forget. Any show put on by my Queen will be put on with perfection! Well there was a crazy fan that jumped on stage during the OTR II show in Atlanta, but I’m sure they’ve beefed up security since then!
